Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ThePriceChart.com ("the Site", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you visit and interact with the Site. Where consent is legally required, using the Site does not replace or imply that consent.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Analytics data: If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) may collect pages viewed, session duration, referral source, device type, browser type, operating system, and screen resolution. Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a tag-delivery container and does not itself create an additional visitor profile.
- Cookie data: We use cookies and similar technologies to store preferences and to enable analytics and advertising services subject to the consent controls described below. See Section 4 for details.
- Email signup data: If you subscribe to email updates through the Site, your email address is currently stored in your browser's localStorage. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly submitted through a form.
- Usage data: Subject to your analytics choice, GA4 may measure navigation and interactions. Embedded services and destination platforms may process interactions under their own privacy policies.
We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the Site.
2. Google AdSense and Advertising
The Site includes the Google AdSense site tag and may display advertisements only after Google approves the Site for ad serving. Google and participating advertising vendors may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, or similar technologies to deliver, limit, secure, and measure ads.
- Where permitted and consented to, Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to personalize ads based on activity on this Site and other sites. Without the required consent, advertising may be non-personalized or limited.
- You can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and review Google's advertising technologies.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising choices are requested through Google's certified consent management platform (CMP), which supports the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework. The local analytics banner does not grant advertising consent. Until the Google CMP supplies a valid advertising consent signal, Google Consent Mode keeps ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization denied.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site. GA4 collects the following types of data:
- Page views and navigation: Which pages you visit, how long you spend on each page, and the order in which you view pages.
- Session data: Session duration, number of pages per session, and whether you are a new or returning visitor.
- Device and browser information: Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet), browser name and version, operating system, and screen resolution.
- Geographic data: Approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city level).
- Traffic source: How you arrived at the Site (search engine, direct visit, referral link, social media).
Google receives an IP address as part of the network request and uses it to derive approximate location; GA4 does not log or provide that IP address to us. We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, account identifiers, precise location, or other custom personally identifiable fields to GA4. Analytics data is used to improve the Site's content, structure, and user experience.
GTM may deliver measurement tags. Any tag loaded through it remains subject to the consent choices and disclosures described here.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. The Site uses the following categories of cookies:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Site to function properly and cannot be disabled.
- Cookie consent preference: Stores whether you have accepted or rejected non-essential cookies. This preference is saved in your browser's localStorage.
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site.
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): Used by GA4 to distinguish unique users, track sessions, and measure site usage. These cookies expire after 2 years (for user identification) or 24 hours (for session data).
Advertising Cookies
After approval and subject to applicable consent, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar storage to serve, limit, secure, and measure ads. These technologies may be operated from Google, DoubleClick, or Google Syndication domains.
Affiliate Tracking Cookies
When you click an affiliate link (URLs beginning with /go/), the destination platform may set cookies to track that you were referred by ThePriceChart. These cookies are set by third-party platforms, not by us. Their duration and behavior are governed by each platform's own privacy policy.
Managing Cookies
When you first visit the Site, the local banner lets you accept or reject optional analytics. Advertising choices are managed separately by Google's certified CMP where required, including controls to consent, reject, or manage purposes and vendors. You can also delete stored preferences and cookies through your browser settings. Disabling optional storage does not prevent access to the Site's main content.
5. Third-Party Services
The Site integrates with the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- TradingView: We embed TradingView charting widgets on the Site to display live price data and interactive charts. TradingView may collect usage data through these widgets. TradingView Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics (GA4): Used for website analytics and visitor insights. Google Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense: The site tag connects the Site for review and, after approval, may deliver advertising. Google advertising technologies.
- Google Tag Manager (GTM): Used to manage and deploy measurement tags. Google Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare: The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect minimal technical data for security and performance purposes. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Affiliate platforms: When you click affiliate links, you are redirected to third-party trading platforms that have their own data collection and privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any platform you visit through our links.
6. Affiliate Links
ThePriceChart.com participates in affiliate programs with various trading platforms. Affiliate links on the Site use the /go/ URL prefix (e.g., /go/platform-name).
- When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to the third-party platform through an affiliate tracking mechanism.
- If you subsequently create an account or make a deposit, we may earn a commission from the platform.
- Affiliate tracking relies on cookies set by the third-party platform, not by ThePriceChart.
- We do not receive your personal account information, trading activity, or financial data from these platforms.
- Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content or platform rankings.
7. Data Retention
- Google Analytics data: Analytics data is retained according to Google's default retention policy. In GA4, event-level data is retained for 14 months by default. Aggregated reporting data may be retained longer. You can learn more about Google's data retention settings in the GA4 documentation.
- Cookie consent preferences: Stored in your browser's localStorage indefinitely until you clear your browser data.
- Email signup data: Currently stored in your browser's localStorage. This data persists until you clear your browser data or unsubscribe.
- Advertising data: Google controls retention for advertising cookies and related data under its published policies and the applicable consent signal.

10. Children's Privacy

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected], and we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

11. International Data Transfers

These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where consent or another legal basis is required, merely using the Site does not replace it. Google and Cloudflare describe their transfer safeguards in their respective privacy documentation.
